Travelers can save with a number of hotel promotions for travel in winter, spring and even throughout the whole year. These offers will help you save money on your next vacation.

The older you are, the less you will pay at Starwood properties. Starwood’s promotion allows you to pay the dollar amount of the of the year you were born on your second and/or third consecutive nights of a stay at participating Starwood properties, including Sheraton, Westin, Four Points, Aloft, Le Meridien, Element and W Hotels.
So if you were born in 1950, you would pay the regular rate for the first night, but only $50 per night for the second and third night. I used this promotion when I was going to New York a few weeks ago and I wanted to stay at the Le Meridien. When I checked the rate it was $289 per night, which was more than I wanted to pay even for a 4 ½ star hotel. Using this promotion, I paid an average of $130 a night, which is a whole lot nicer than $289 per night. If you have a child born in the 2000s, paying $0 to $12 per night sounds great, but they won’t rent a room to a minor, so you won’t get a deal that cheap.
The offer is valid for stays through Dec. 31, 2012 at participating Starwood properties. Select luxury properties charge $100 plus your birth year with this offer. Rates are based on single or double occupancy and do not include taxes and fees. The minimum-stay requirement varies by property. To reserve, call 1-877-782-0108 and use promotion code NBR, or visit www.starwoodpromos.com/payyourbirthyear.
Stay two times at a Marriott and earn one free night with the Marriott MegaBonus promotion for 2012. You’ll earn a free night after two paid stays at participating hotels between February 1 and April 30. You can earn up to two free nights with this promotion. Be aware that this offer is per stay, so if you spend two or more consecutive nights at a property, that counts as one stay. You must be a member of the free Marriott Rewards program and must register prior to travel, and by March 31, by calling 1-888-627-7468 or online at www.marriott.com/rewards/promotion.mi?promotion=MS12.
Earn free nights faster with Club Carlson’s triple point promotion for stays at Radisson, Country Inns & Suites by Carlson, Park Inn by Radisson or Park Plaza hotels through March 16. Guests will earn 60 Gold Points per dollar spent during the promotional period. You can also earn triple points for food and beverages charged to your room. Travelers must register for this promotion prior to travel at www.clubcarlson.com.
Don’t forget about Las Vegas, since our number one vacation seller is back. Purchase an air/hotel vacation package, for three nights or longer and get two free show tickets to some of the hottest shows on the strip including Cirque du Soleil, Terry Fator and more. These show tickets are worth up to $150 each. If you want to go on the weekend, consider Saturday departures because Thursday and Friday departures can be double the money. The offer is valid for stays at participating MGM properties and from Dallas we found midweek rates starting at $250 per person, based on double occupancy. You must book this deal by February 16, for travel through September 6. Get more details here.
One thing to note, we are finding airfares are sky high for President’s Day weekend, which is the weekend of February 18. These fares are very expensive when you compare them to almost any other weekend in February and also early March, so avoid that weekend if you can.
