The terms and conditions of this promotion state that the discount can only be applied to published airfares of $250 or more but, currently as of today, the 10% instant discount is working for any one-way, or roundtrip flight regardless of price.
American Airlines only allows the 10% discount to apply to the base fare, which means fuel surcharges, international entry and exit fees, and governmental taxes can not be discounted.
