 during the week of Christmas and New Years, the car rental companies wanted over $800 to $1,000 for a mid-size car for a week long rental. Talk about highway robbery!
We have a deal if you pick up your car in one of our select northeast USA cities and drop off the car off in Florida and fly home from Florida one-way you can probably save a ton of money this Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years holiday travel season. You can rent an economy car, full-size, minivan, for about $300 to $330 for the whole week.
This sale has been extended several times however, this time the car rental
companies are not allowing SUV's to be rented but you can still get a compact
car for $30 a day, a mid-size for $32, or a full size for $33 which is still amazing
during the holidays.
Right now we have two car rental companies that allow you to rent a car from select cities in the northeast for $30 a day if you drop the car off in Florida. You can keep the car up to 21 days at the price of $30 a day plus taxes. Not only do you save over $500 on a week long car rental, but you also save on the price of the one-way airfare from Florida during one of the heaviest demand travel season of the year.
If you want to save between $800 to $1,000 and take your family to Florida
for Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years this could be your best fly and drive
steal on wheel deal for you.
Currently we have priced airfares for one way returns to
Washington DC from Orlando so you can see how truly valuable this travel deal
can be. Being flexible can save you big bucks this holiday season.
For example, a one week full size car rental in Florida for
December 27 thru January 3, 2010 with all taxes is about $899 in Orlando, $839
in Tampa, $949 Ft. Lauderdale, and Miami will cost you $949. Remember this is
car rental only, not including your airfare. Now I think I know where the term
"highway robbery" came from!
If you buy a ticket from Washington DC to Orlando on December
27, 2009 and return January 3, 2010 the cheapest airfare is $509 per person.
That's another $2,036 for a family of four. You are now up to $2,935 for the car
rental and airfares, with no hotel in sight.
Now if you drive to Florida, you can rent a car for about $300
including taxes, it's about $149 for a one way airfare, or about $600 for a
family of four, plus about $130 in gas, and our deal gets a family of four there
for about $1,000. That's a savings of $1,900 for a family of four.
