USA and International Airlines Raise Airfares and Fuel Surcharges To Europe By 185 Percent For Travel July, August 2009. Now we have bad news, bad news, then some good news, and then some even better news. We will start off with the bad news.

Over the past 24 to 48 hours major airlines that served Europe from the USA raised airfares by as much as 185% compared to the airfares you could have bought on Wednesday June 24, 2009.

This spring we told you, and told you week after week that airfares to Europe for travel July thru August were up to 65% off, and now today they are up to 185% higher.

More bad news...the major airlines have also raised international fuel surcharges to most cities in Europe from $180 roundtrip to $224 roundtrip that's a 25% increase! The charts below show the fare and fuel surcharge increases to date.

Now the first bit of good news. If you can delay your trip until at least August 17, 2009. You will find dirt cheap airfares to Europe August 17 thru October 24, 2009. You could easily save a thousand dollars or more by traveling during this time period just check out our charts below.

Now the really good news. The old published airfares that were available just 24 hours ago, are still available to us. The real question is, for how long? These special airfares are no longer available through our booking engine due to contract rules and penalties. But, we can still sell them to you for about the same price as the fall airfares, see the airfares in our chart in the 'price was' column. Remember these airfares can only be sold to Bestfares members.
